The dataset was collected from handwritten samples provided by 24 university students from the Greater Sylhet region. It consists of 33 Sylheti Nagri character classes. All collected samples underwent manual verification, validation, and filtering to remove ambiguous and low-quality instances. The original dataset contained approximately 24 samples per class, which was subsequently augmented to 500 samples per class using standard image augmentation techniques, resulting in a total of 16,500 samples. Both the original and augmented datasets were preprocessed through resizing, normalization, and noise reduction to ensure consistency and suitability for handwriting recognition and OCR applications.
