Individualized homoeopathic medicines in the treatment of Bell’s palsy in adults: A double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled pilot trial

This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled pilot trial evaluated the feasibility of conducting a definitive phase III trial of individualized homeopathic medicines (IHMs) as an adjunct to supportive care for Bell's palsy. The study demonstrated that recruitment, randomization, blinding, intervention delivery, follow-up, and outcome assessment were feasible, with high adherence, good data completeness, and an acceptable safety profile. Although not powered to determine treatment efficacy, exploratory analyses consistently suggested earlier recovery and improved clinical outcomes with IHMs, providing preliminary effect estimates and methodological evidence to support progression to a larger, adequately powered multicentre confirmatory trial.
