Processed water-soluble-ion and nitrate-isotope data for tropical-cyclone aerosol evolution in Quanzhou Bay
Description
This dataset supports the manuscript “Tropical-cyclone modulation of marine-influenced aerosol ageing and nitrate-isotope evolution in Quanzhou Bay”. It contains data generated from sixteen total suspended particulate samples collected at a coastal receptor in Quanzhou Bay from 14 July to 11 August 2024 around Typhoon Gaemi. The files provide sample-level concentrations of seven water-soluble ions, chloride-depletion and non-sea-salt sulfate indicators, nitrate δ¹⁵N and δ¹⁸O measurements, observation-window summaries, exact permutation statistics, and literature-constrained directional isotope contrasts. Sampling was interrupted from 24 to 29 July during the strongest cyclone and rainfall influence, and no ion or isotope values were interpolated or imputed within that interval. The analytical extract nitrate-N concentration is retained as a laboratory record and is explicitly distinguished from ambient particulate nitrate concentration. Cyclone-track records, hourly meteorological inputs and raw WRF-Chem fields are not redistributed in this deposit; their sources and availability are described in the manuscript.

Steps to reproduce
Download and extract the supplementary data archive. The archive contains the processed data and supporting materials used in the associated manuscript. Water-soluble-ion concentrations and nitrate-isotope data are organized by TSP sample (S1–S16) and observation period. The processed datasets can be used to reproduce the reported phase summaries, ion ratios, isotope contrasts, statistical analyses, and figures following the methods described in the manuscript. WRF-Chem outputs, where included, are provided as diagnostic fields for evaluating sea-salt transport. Detailed analytical procedures, observation-window definitions, statistical methods, and model configuration are described in the associated manuscript.
