Description

This dataset corresponds to a descriptive single clinical case study on nursing care in a patient with osmotic demyelination syndrome (ODS) secondary to the correction of severe hyponatremia, prepared following the CARE guidelines. It includes sociodemographic and clinical data from a 47-year-old male patient with a history of hypertension, chronic alcoholism, macrocytic anemia, and allergy to penicillins and sulfonamides. It contains the chronology of clinical events from the onset of seizures to hospital follow-up, as well as the nursing assessment derived from Marjory Gordon's 11 functional health patterns, with findings from physical examination, vital signs, Glasgow Coma Scale, muscle strength according to Daniels, Barthel Index, Braden Scale, and laboratory and imaging studies. It also includes 16 NANDA-I nursing diagnoses prioritized using Pesut and Herman's AREA model and the ABC approach, three prioritized care plans with NOC outcomes and NIC interventions, target scores and outcome evaluation, and evolution data such as oxygenation parameters, auscultatory findings, skin integrity, and NOC score progression. The data allow replication of network clinical reasoning, diagnostic prioritization, and the structuring of care plans based on NANDA-I, NOC, and NIC terminology in patients with ODS and multisystem neurological involvement.
