ASL signs used for sign language detection
Description
This dataset consists of images designed for training and evaluating models for American Sign Language (ASL) recognition and translation. It appears to be structured for a classification task where each class corresponds to a different ASL sign. š Dataset Structure: The root directory contains a folder named data/, which includes subdirectories labeled numerically (e.g., 0, 1, 2, ...). Each subdirectory represents a distinct ASL sign or label class. Inside each class folder are multiple image files (e.g., 0.jpg, 1.jpg, ..., N.jpg) showing hand gestures corresponding to that specific ASL sign. š¼ļø Image Information: Format: JPEG Dimensions: 640 Ć 480 pixels Color Mode: RGB š¦ Possible Use Cases: Sign language recognition Real-time ASL translation Gesture classification Deep learning model training (CNNs, transfer learning, etc.) š§ Recommended Applications: Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) Data augmentation techniques (flipping, rotation, etc.) Transfer learning with pretrained vision models (e.g., ResNet, MobileNet)
