Description

This is a cross-country panel dataset on equipment and structures capital stocks from Mutreja (2014). The dataset spans 119 countries during 1950-2004. Equipment corresponds to ISIC Rev. 2 categories 381-385, viz., fabricated metal products, electrical and nonelectrical machinery, transport equipment, communication equipment, office machinery, and professional and scientific equipment. Structures comprise of residential and nonresidential buildings. Stocks of equipment and structures capital are constructed using the perpetual inventory method. This method employs purchasing power parity measures of equipment and structures investment. Dataset also includes information on fraction of equipment in total capital, equipment and structures capital-output ratios and capital per worker.

Steps to reproduce

Dataset on equipment and structures capital stocks are created by using the perpetual inventory method. This method employs purchasing power parity data on equipment and structures investment that were acquired from the Center for International Comparisons at University of Pennsylvania.
