Biopsychosocial and Immunological Correlates of Depression: A Pilot Study in a Sri Lankan Cohort.

Description

This dataset contains anonymized clinical, biochemical, and sociodemographic data collected for a study investigating inflammatory and oxidative stress markers associated with depression. The dataset includes questionnaire-based information such as demographic characteristics, psychosocial variables, and relevant clinical background of study participants. Laboratory measurements include serum interleukin-6 (IL-6) and interleukin-4 (IL-4) levels as indicators of inflammatory activity, nitric oxide metabolites (NOx) as markers of oxidative stress, and total antioxidant capacity measured using the ABTS radical scavenging assay. All personal identifiers were removed prior to data deposition to ensure participant confidentiality and compliance with ethical research standards. The dataset supports the statistical analyses presented in the associated research article and may be reused for academic and non-commercial research related to depression, inflammation, oxidative stress, and mental health.
