Description

The dataset contains morphometric measurements of four roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) varieties (Ana Delia, Benito, Dogo and Criolla), each evaluated with four biological replicates (n = 16). Seventeen quantitative morphological descriptors were recorded, including stem diameter, leaf blade dimensions from upper, intermediate and lower canopy positions, petiole length, calyx dimensions, capsule dimensions, seed size and number of seeds per capsule. The dataset also includes two identification variables (variety and replicate). These measurements enable comparative morphological analyses among varieties and support multivariate statistical analyses such as principal component analysis (PCA), hierarchical clustering, discriminant analysis and correlation studies.

Steps to reproduce

Morphological descriptors were measured directly on mature plants following standardized procedures. Stem diameter, leaf dimensions, petiole length, calyx size, capsule size, and seed dimensions were measured with a digital caliper. Four biological replicates were evaluated for each of the four roselle varieties (Ana Delia, Benito, Dogo, and Criolla), generating a dataset of sixteen observations and seventeen quantitative morphological variables. The resulting dataset can be directly imported into statistical software for univariate and multivariate analyses without additional preprocessing.
