Zenodo. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.20713170 This dataset contains output from the AFES-Venus general circulation model in its zonally symmetric solar-heating (Qz) configuration, in which the the diurnal and semidiurnal thermal tides are excluded, and the simulated variability arises from transient planetary-scale waves in Venus's superrotating atmosphere. The output comprises 6-hourly fields of zonal wind, meridional wind, temperature, geopotential, and vertical (pressure) velocity, in GRID format (Need to be converted to NetCDF). The empirical orthogonal function (EOF) decomposition analyzed in the manuscript is computed from these fields using the code in the accompanying software repository. Author Tong Ding, Nori Sugimoto, Takeshi Imamura Due to restriction on file size. U, V, T, Z, OMG, QSOL data sets of AFES Venus output can be made in request.
