We report the discovery of a remarkable 158-meter-thick Mg-carbonate precipitation during the middle Eocene in the Lushi Basin, central China. Six data tables are included in this dataset, including S1: Mineralogical compositions of the studied samples, S2: Relative compositions of clay minerals, S3: Evaluation of accuracy for Rietveld method, S4: Magnesium isotopes of standard and the studied samples, S5: Δ47 values and calculated T(Δ47) results of the studied samples, and S6: Eocene lacustrine magnesium carbonates in the central East Asia.
