Scope review to map the use of KAP in outcome assessment for educational interventions in home care

Steps to reproduce

To map the actions/strategies for applying the CAP questionnaire in the training of family caregivers in health care. A scoping review based on the Joanna Briggs Institute methodology and reported using the PRISMA Extension for Scoping Reviews. The guiding question was “What strategies for the applicability and use of the CAP questionnaire are being addressed in the health education process?” Ten studies were selected from the MEDLINE, CINAHL, PubMed, LILACS, Web of Science, and BDTD databases. Two blinded reviewers conducted the selection using Rayyan. The review highlighted CAP applicability strategies addressing comparisons of group-based education, evaluation, and the identification of gaps in health interventions. The evaluation of interventions for chronic diseases was predominant. Interventions using the KAP survey included printed materials, lectures, combined methods, videos, simulations, and discussion groups; the combination of printed materials and individualized guidance demonstrated the best results. The KAP survey aims to guide patients in care and self-care and to inform professional practice by supporting programmatic decisions and providing guidance on the planning of educational interventions and their effectiveness.
