Dataset for a manuscript on Ge speciation in quartz, including data for Figures 1-6 and Tables 1-4 in the main text, those in Figures S1-S5 and Table S2 in Supplementary Materials, and CRYSTAL theoretical calculations. This research uses combined EPR and synchrotron XAS experiments and first-principles theoretical calculations to demonstrate the presence of divalent Ge species in quartz for the first time.
