Paired acoustic and camera trap detections of Australasian Grass-Owl (Tyto longimembris) across diel and seasonal scales in southwestern Taiwan
Description
This dataset contains paired detection records of Australasian Grass-Owl (Tyto longimembris) collected using autonomous recording units (ARUs) and perch-mounted camera traps across two river systems in southwestern Taiwan (Zengwen–Yanshui and Kaoping). Monitoring was conducted over a full annual cycle to assess diel and seasonal patterns of owl activity and to compare the performance of acoustic and visual passive monitoring methods. Data are provided in two temporal resolutions, 1) Hourly dataset (2Data_Hour_combine.csv): Binary presence–absence records aggregated at the hourly level for both camera traps and acoustic recorders. 2) Daily dataset (3Data_Day_combine.csv): Binary presence–absence records aggregated at the daily level. Each dataset includes matched observations from both monitoring methods at the same stations and time intervals, allowing direct comparison of detection outcomes (both detected, camera-only, recorder-only, neither). The dataset includes both full sampling data and effort-standardized subsets used for cross-site comparison.
