Steps to reproduce

The study followed a systematic qualitative secondary data collection procedure to ensure transparency, reliability, and reproducibility of the research process. Publicly available secondary data related to social media use and youth identity formation in Biliran Province were gathered from 2023 to 2026 through documentary analysis and thematic analysis. Data sources included scholarly journals, online academic publications, government reports, digital media articles, educational studies, and credible online resources discussing youth behavior, social media engagement, digital culture, and identity formation. A purposive sampling technique was utilized to select materials directly relevant to the research objectives. The researcher conducted keyword-based searches using terms such as “social media and youth identity,” “digital communication among rural youth,” “Biliran youth culture,” and “social media behavior in the Philippines.” Only credible, publicly accessible, and academically reliable sources were included, while unverifiable online content and non-relevant materials were excluded. Collected data were organized using thematic coding procedures to identify recurring patterns related to self-expression, peer interaction, online behavior, emotional response, and identity development. Microsoft Word and spreadsheet software were used to categorize, organize, and summarize the collected information. The analytical workflow involved data familiarization, thematic coding, categorization, interpretation, and synthesis of findings. Since the study relied exclusively on secondary data, no laboratory instruments, experimental reagents, or direct human participation were involved. All sources, coding categories, and analytical procedures were systematically documented to allow future researchers to replicate or extend the study using similar methods and data sources.
