Description

This dataset contains DNA sequences in FASTA format associated with the article "Avocado Sustains a Complex of Neosilba spp. (Diptera: Lonchaeidae) in Veracruz, Mexico" to be published. It includes molecular data for Neosilba and Lonchaea species analyzed in the study.

Steps to reproduce

DNA was extracted from Neosilba spp. and Lonchaea cristula specimens. The COI gene was amplified using primers C1-J-1718 and C1-N-2191. Sequences were assembled and edited in BioEdit v7.0.5 software and aligned using MAFFT v7 and MEGA 7. The best nucleotide substitution model (GTR+I+G) was identified with jModelTest 2. Phylogenetic analyses were conducted using maximum likelihood in raxmlGUI 2.0 and Bayesian inference in MrBayes v3.2.6. The phylogenetic tree was edited in FigTree v1.4.3.
