Description

This dataset contains microsatellite genotypes of Glossina pallidipes collected from two sites in Turkana County, in northwestern Kenya, alonside previously published populations in Kenya. A total of 10 polymorphic microsatellite loci were genotyped in individual flies using PCR amplification followed by genotyping. The dataset includes allele sizes for each locus per individual, with missing data presented as zeros. These genotypic data were generated to assess genetic diversity, population structure, and potential gene flow within and between G. pallidipes populations in northwestern Kenya (KAI and ORO) and the rest of the previously published data from Kenya.

Steps to reproduce

DNA was extracted from individual tsetse fly legs. The 10 microsatellites were amplified using PCR with fluorescently labelled dyes. The PCR products were then genotyped, and the genotypes confirmed by manual scoring on the GeneMarker Software.
