Dataset of indoor air pollutants at the microenvironment level in buildings within a university center

Description

Datasets were collected using low-cost sensors to measure indoor air pollutants in the offices and workspaces of two buildings with distinct construction characteristics at a university center in northeastern Mexico. The study examined 26 microenvironments (13 per building), assessing indoor air pollution levels and meteorological factors in nine offices and four workspaces in each building. Edifice-1 is a seven-story structure constructed in 2012, featuring no natural ventilation and exterior walls made of glass, resulting in an airtight design. A central air conditioning system regulates the indoor temperature throughout the building, managing both hot and cold air. Edifice-2, built as a single-story structure in 1967, includes a central air conditioning system that offers ventilation, allowing staff to control the indoor temperature. Natural ventilation can also be achieved by opening the windows, especially in the fall and early winter.

Steps to reproduce

The measurements were conducted for eight hours continuously indoors at 3-minute intervals during the workday (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). The monitoring equipment was placed at approximately 1.3 m height indoors. The frequency of the samples was from April to May (spring), July to August (summer), and October to November 2023 (autumn).
