This study, titled 'Expectations, barriers, and long-term care in rural settings: A qualitative study' utilized a qualitative approach. Through semi-structured interviews conducted in Spanish, the research explored the care expectations of dependent older adults residing in rural central Chile. The participant group consisted of 12 individuals ranging in age from 66 to 89 years, the majority of whom were women. To ensure participant confidentiality, data were anonymized by replacing direct identifiers with the string 'XXXX'.
