Description

Chronic mechanical neck pain is the most commonly occurring musculoskeletal condition. ProFitMap- Neck Questionnaire is designed to evaluate neck function and pain. PFM is available in Chinese, Turkish, English and many other languages. It hasn't, however, been translated into Hindi. This study was meant to translate the PFM into Hindi version, cross-culturally adapt it, and assess its validity and test-retest reliability in individuals with FS. Method: This study was conducted at MM Superspeciality Tertiary Care Hospital, Mullana. The PFM was translated into Hindi according to Beaton’s standardized guidelines, including forward translation, synthesis, backward translation, expert committee review, and pilot testing. Thirty participants with FS were involved in cross-cultural adaptation, while fifty-one Hindi-speaking patients with CMNP were recruited for reliability testing. Content validity was assessed using the Delphi method with ten experts using Item-Level and Scale-Level Content Validity Indices (I-CVI and S-CVI). Test-retest reliability was assessed after 72 hours using the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC), while internal consistency was determined using Cronbach’s alpha. Result: Pilot testing showed excellent comprehensibility, with all items understood by participants. The Hindi PFM demonstrated excellent content validity with S-CVI = 0.98. Testretest reliability was excellent (ICC = 0.992), and internal consistency was outstanding (Cronbach’s α = 0.996). Floor and ceiling effects were minimal (<15%), indicating good score distribution and sensitivity. Conclusion : For CMNP patients who speak Hindi, this study evaluated test-retest reliability and content validity of the Hindi-translated PFM.
