In this study, we examined the lipid profile of a novel, yet uncharacterized mycobacterial protein called Msm5083. Ultrastructural imaging of this protein revealed severe membrane defects and as mycobacterial membrane is enriched with lipids, we sought to inspect the lipid profile of the mutant and compare it with wildtype.
