This dataset contains the main data generated and analyzed in the study “Microbial phyla associated with priming effects in animal excrement-enriched alpine meadow soils across degradation gradients”. The dataset includes soil priming effect data, soil physicochemical properties, bacterial 16S rRNA ASV data, and fungal ITS ASV data from alpine meadow soils with different degradation levels after the addition of Tibetan sheep and plateau pika excrements. Treatment abbreviations are as follows: N, non-degraded meadow; L, lightly degraded meadow; M, moderately degraded meadow; S, severely degraded meadow; CK, no excrement addition; T, Tibetan sheep excrement addition; P, plateau pika excrement addition.
