Description

This repository contains datasets associated to the solution of personnel scheduling problem in the retail industry. Particularly, this repository is related to the PhD thesis titled "Addressing seasonal and uncertain demand in service companies through a triple labor flexibility strategy based on multiskilling, annualized hours, and overtime" which was presented from the Doctoral Program in Supply Chain and Operations Management (SCOM) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain. The first folder is called 'Database for Chapter 5', which contains, on the one hand, a folder with real, processed and simulated data used in the two analyses performed in the article (Analysis 1 and Analysis 2). On the other hand, there is another folder called 'Results', which contains two Excel workbooks named 'A1-results.xlsx' and 'A2-results.xlsx', associated with optimality gaps and computation times for the test instances performed in Analysis 1 and 2. The second folder is called 'Database for Chapter 6' which contains, folders with real, processed and simulated data for the three analysis performed in the computational tests: In-sample, out-of-sample, stochastic approach versus deterministic approach.
