Description

Solidification is directly determined by multi-fields. Visualization of the flow field, the solute content field, as well as the constitutional undercooling field during the solidification of immiscible Al-Bi alloy, was conducted via X-ray radiography and optical flow approach. The related detailed description and analysis as well as the steps to reproduce were referred to in the paper titled “The interplay of flow and solute fields during the solidification of Al-Bi alloy via the X-ray radiography and optical flow approach”. Here, the solute profile and the optical flow measurements based on the raw radiographs which were recorded during the solidification of immiscible Al-Bi alloy were uploaded, where the unit of the optical flow and solute profile data respectively “m/s” and “× 100 %”. The positive vertical flow velocity (VY) is in the downward direction. The positive horizontal flow velocity (VX) is in the rightward direction. V is the net velocity.
