Description

This repository contains the data products and analysis code supporting the manuscript “Regional carbon price dispersion and national market linkages in China”. The data archive includes machine-readable statistical results, publication figures, variable definitions, source metadata, product and market documentation, publicly redistributable external controls, and integrity manifests. The code archive contains the scripted procedures used for data processing, fixed-market dispersion analysis, timing and robustness diagnostics, national–regional linkage tests, finite-sample simulations, and the analyses reported in the supplementary information. The underlying daily carbon-market observations were obtained from the CSMAR Carbon Neutrality Research Database under institutional access conditions. Original CSMAR records, processed daily and weekly carbon-price panels, dated market-level price paths, and the separate Shanghai closing-price robustness dataset are not redistributed because public redistribution is not permitted under the applicable access conditions. Licensed CSMAR users can reconstruct the restricted analytical inputs using the documented source definitions and scripts. The original CSMAR export covers 5 August 2013 to 6 December 2024, and the authorised extension covers observations through 11 September 2026. Missing source observations are not treated as zero trading, and prices are not carried forward in the main analysis. Carry-forward variants are used only as explicitly labelled methodological diagnostics. Version 2 update (second major revision). This version adds the scripts and machine-readable outputs for the fixed-market composition analysis reported in Table 6 and Supplementary Table S22. The update documents the four-market core, the same-week exclusion of Beijing, the five-market extension including Shenzhen, and Beijing observation and trading-activity coverage. It includes sample-support and descriptive tables, segmented-model estimates with calendar-HAC standard errors and multiplicity-adjusted p-values, and instructions for reproducing these outputs from the licensed weekly panel. No original CSMAR records or restricted processed price panels are redistributed.
