Diagnostic Survey Results on Values Formation and Sense of Belonging Among Peruvian Teachers

This dataset contains the aggregated diagnostic results (frequencies and percentages) on the 'Sense of Belonging' variable and its two dimensions, obtained from a completed doctoral research study conducted at a private basic education institution (IEP 'Las Palmas', Chiclayo, Peru) in 2020. Research hypothesis / problem: insufficiency in the process of values formation limits teachers' sense of belonging in the educational institution. Data synthesis: results come from a Likert-scale questionnaire (42 items, 1=Never to 5=Always) applied to 35 teachers, and a parallel interview guide (42 items, same scale) applied to 3 level coordinators. Both instruments assessed two dimensions: (1) Contextual Dimension of Institutional Axiological Identity, and (2) Dimension of Systematized Axiological Appropriation, each broken down into three indicators. Most relevant results: 97.4% of participants indicated that contextualization and systematized axiological appropriation are never or almost never carried out, showing a very low level of sense of belonging among the teaching staff prior to any intervention. Interpretation guidance: percentages are calculated over the total respondents per technique (n=35 for the survey, n=3 for the interview). The dataset reports AGGREGATED results only (as published in the thesis results chapter); item-level individual responses are not included. A full codebook describing each field, dimension, indicator, and the Likert scale is provided in the 'Codebook' sheet of the data file.

Steps to reproduce
1. Open the .xlsx file with Microsoft Excel, LibreOffice Calc, or Google Sheets (open, non-proprietary-compatible spreadsheet software). 2. Read the 'README' sheet first for an overview of the dataset and its methodological context. 3. Consult the 'Codebook' sheet to understand each column and category before analyzing the data. 4. 'Table1_Results_by_Indicator' reproduces the detailed frequency/percentage results per indicator, dimension, and technique (survey vs. interview), exactly as reported in the source thesis results chapter. 5. 'Table2_Summary_by_Dimension' reproduces the averaged summary table (survey + interview) per dimension and for the overall variable. 6. No specialized or proprietary software is required. No additional processing script is needed, since the data are already presented in final tabular form. 7. Validation: figures can be cross-checked against the results chapter (section 3.1) of the source doctoral thesis, available at the Universidad Señor de Sipán institutional repository.
