Demand-Mediated and Socially Embedded Wage Formation in Albania: Productivity Transmission, Migration and European Wage Benchmarks

This dataset supports the manuscript "Demand-Mediated and Socially Embedded Wage Formation in Albania: Productivity Transmission, Migration and European Wage Benchmarks" by Admir Mulaj, Adela Karapici and Shkelzen Hasanaj. It contains annual Albanian wage, labour-market and macroeconomic series used to examine whether wage formation is more consistent with a demand-mediated and socially embedded pattern than with a clean productivity-pass-through mechanism. The raw-data component includes the author-compiled SharePoint workbook raw_data_sharepoint_admir_mulaj_2026-06-12.xlsx, which contains the working wage and macroeconomic series used in the empirical analysis, including average wages, public-sector wages, consumer prices, gross domestic product, labour productivity, exchange-rate conversion, unemployment and investment variables, together with EViews output sheets from earlier ARDL checks. The model-output component contains CSV files generated from the empirical workflow: unit-root and break-sensitive screening, correlation matrices, VIF diagnostics, ARDL/UECM model searches, HAC-adjusted coefficients, growth-rate robustness checks, VAR/Granger checks, supply-side checks, HDI extensions and theory-to-macro verification tables. The dataset uses aggregate annual macroeconomic and labour-market information only. It does not contain individual-level personal data, survey microdata or confidential respondent information. Because part of the wage series is author-compiled and the econometric analysis is based on a short annual time series, the files should be interpreted as a transparent support package for the manuscript rather than as a definitive national statistical database.

The raw-data upload includes raw_data_sharepoint_admir_mulaj_2026-06-12.xlsx, an author-compiled workbook containing the working wage and macroeconomic series used in the study. The accompanying checksum file raw_data_sharepoint_admir_mulaj_2026-06-12.sha256.csv documents the integrity of this workbook. The Human Development Index source file owid_human_development_index.csv is included for the contextual development extension.
