Data set for Spatial distribution of metal in soils of ecologically sensitive forest region - Western Ghats, South India: vertical profile, enrichment status and health risk assessment

Description

Metal concentrations in soils of ecologically sensitive forest region, Western Ghats, South India are influenced by natural weathering and anthropogenic inputs. The metals like Fe, Ca, Mn, Mg, Cr, V, Zn, Ni, Pb, Co, Cu showed spatial variation. Pollution indices like enrichment factor and contamination factor collectively indicated moderate to high enrichment of Cr, Pb, and Co.

Steps to reproduce

Collected soil samples were acid digested to find metal concentration and enrichment and contamination factors were calculated.
