Dataset for “Remittances and Import Dynamics in Developing Countries: Implications for Policy Framework” Description: This dataset contains panel data used in the study “Remittances and Import Dynamics in Developing Countries: Implications for Policy Framework.” The dataset covers 52 developing countries over the period 1995–2022 and was compiled to examine the relationship between remittance inflows and import dynamics using panel econometric techniques. The dataset includes annual country-level observations on: * Personal remittance inflows * Imports of goods and services * Gross Domestic Product (GDP) * Exchange rates * Other macroeconomic indicators used in the empirical analysis The data were collected from publicly accessible and internationally recognized secondary sources, including: * World Bank World Development Indicators (WDI) * International Monetary Fund (IMF) * UNCTAD Data * National statistical and central banking publications The study employs Panel Fixed-Effect estimation and Granger causality analysis to investigate the impact of remittance inflows on import behavior and related policy implications in developing economies.
