Dataset for Critical Success Factors of Integrated Design Process Implementation in the Turkish Construction Industry
Description
This dataset supports the research on identifying and prioritizing critical success factors (CSFs) for the implementation of the Integrated Design Process (IDP) in the Turkish construction industry. The data were collected through a structured questionnaire survey administered to 20 experienced professionals working in various roles within the construction sector. The dataset consists of 20 responses and 28 variables. The first section includes demographic and professional background information of respondents, such as company size, years of experience in the construction and design fields, level of knowledge regarding integrated design, organizational experience, professional role, and educational background. The second section contains expert evaluations of 20 critical success factors derived from an extensive literature review. These factors cover key dimensions of IDP implementation, including project definition, team formation, Building Information Modeling (BIM) integration, coordination practices, stakeholder involvement, contract management, and performance analysis. Respondents rated each factor using a Likert-type scale to reflect its relative importance in successful IDP implementation. The dataset was used to perform a multi-criteria decision-making analysis based on the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to the Ideal Solution (TOPSIS), enabling the prioritization of CSFs. This dataset provides valuable empirical evidence for researchers and practitioners interested in integrated design, sustainable construction, and decision-making methodologies. It can be reused for comparative studies, methodological applications, or further analysis in different geographical or industrial contexts.
