This dataset contains a structured set of information that organizes academic contributions in political philosophy, Marxist theory, and Latin American studies on social movements in Colombia and Latin America. It includes variables such as year of publication, document type (articles in indexed journals, book chapters, conference papers), central themes (Marxism, indigenism, teachers' unionism, social movements, and debates on the persistence of colonialism in contemporary modern societies), and dissemination venues (Q1-Q2 journals, international conferences, academic publishers). The purpose of this dataset is to offer a complementary and supporting perspective on research.

Documentary analysis applied to research on social movements in Colombia and Latin America unfolds as a systematic process that begins with defining the object of study—the politicization of collective actors in contexts of domination—and continues with the selection of academic and testimonial sources that allow for tracing social struggles in the region. Subsequently, inclusion criteria are established to prioritize documents that address the relationship between the state, power, and resistance, and a hermeneutic reading is undertaken to interpret discourses and categories from the perspectives of political philosophy and Latin American thought. The information is organized thematically, using axes such as teachers' unionism, Indigenous identity, Afro-descendant identity, and feminisms, followed by a regional comparison that contrasts the Colombian case with experiences in Mexico, Chile, and Bolivia. Finally, a critical synthesis is developed that demonstrates how social movements constitute themselves as political subjects in the face of transnational capitalism and the persistence of colonialism.
