Description

These data correspond to the physical and biogeochemical analyses of two paleosol sequences located in the southern part of the Basin of Mexico. This study aimed to assess the human impact on the paleosols of Cuicuilco by comparing a natural paleosol with the La Estela profile, which shows evidence of human activity. The soil samples were analyzed through physical properties, bulk chemical composition, biogeochemical variables, and mineralogical characterization using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy with Attenuated Total Reflectance (ATR/FT-IR) as a biogeoarchaeological technical framework. The bulk chemical composition delineated discontinuities in both natural soils and La Estela layers.
