This dataset supports the systematic review entitled What counts as participation in ethnobiology? A systematic review of participatory terminology and community involvement. The study investigated how participatory approaches are described and operationalized in ethnobiological research involving Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLC), with particular attention to whether participatory terminology corresponds to substantive forms of community involvement across the research process.
