Description

The datasets include major and minor elements, S and TOC contents (wt.%; Table S1), trace element and REEs concentrations (mg/kg) and related ratios (Table S2), organic carbon and oxygen isotopic compositions (‰; Table S3) for the Early Silurian cherts. Additionally, we compile major and trace element data, with iron speciation, for chert from the Yangtze block margin (Table S4; Fan et al., 2014; Wen et al., 2016; Wang et al., 2025).
