Description

In recent years, the idea of using shared mooring system as a way to reduce the cost of floating offshore wind farms has received increasing attention. With the gradual expansion of floating offshore wind farms, the cost of mooring system is increasing. The shared mooring system has great potential for cost savings, but it make the motion performance more complex. In order to study the influence of shared mooring system on the motion of floating offshore wind turbines, this paper designs a shared mooring system suitable for 10MW OO-Star floating offshore wind turbines. By analyzing the results of platform motion and mooring tension under extreme condition, the length and diameter of the shared mooring line were optimized, and the optimal layout of the shared mooring system was selected. The result shows that the shared mooring system layout designed in this study will increase the horizontal displacement of the platforms and the maximum tension of the mooring lines, but it is still within the technical requirements. Under the same wind farm scale, using the shared mooring system proposed in this study can reduce the total cost of the mooring system by 13.15%. The economic benefits of the mooring system are improved.
