Steam-thermal treatment kinetics of Sangruntau oil shale: temperature-duration factorial dataset and mass-transfer series
Description
Experimental dataset on steam-thermal treatment of metalliferous oil shale from the Sangruntau deposit (Kyzylkum region, Uzbekistan): volatile organic-phase extraction as a function of temperature, duration, particle size and steam flow rate, plus retrospective baseline kinetic data.

Steam-thermal treatment was carried out on a laboratory tube electric furnace with a quartz reaction tube, steam generator, and absorption train (0.2N KOH, saturated Ba(OH)2, 0.5N KMnO4). Air-dried shale of a given particle size was placed in the reaction zone and treated with superheated steam at controlled flow rate for the specified duration and temperature. Extraction was determined gravimetrically from sample mass loss. Full details are given in Section 2 of the associated article.
