Contrasting Drivers of Herb-layer Diversity in Evergreen Coniferous and Deciduous Broadleaf Forests: Evidence from Mount Lao, China

Description

Our study is based on the following hypothesis: the diversity-driving mechanisms of understory herbaceous plants in evergreen coniferous forests and deciduous broad-leaved forests differ under a warm-temperate monsoon climate and also vary from those in temperate forests. Our data present the species composition of understory herbaceous plants, overstory tree diversity, and other surveyed environmental influencing factors across 69 plots (31 evergreen coniferous forest plots and 38 deciduous broad-leaved forest plots).
