Replication package for: Enterprise digitalization and cooperative innovation in manufacturing: Evidence from joint patenting, mechanisms, and heterogeneity

This repository contains data and code for replicating the empirical results in the manuscript ‎‎“Enterprise digitalization and cooperative innovation in manufacturing: Evidence from joint ‎patenting, mechanisms, and heterogeneity.”‎ The study uses annual panel data on A-share listed manufacturing firms (Shanghai and Shenzhen ‎exchanges), 2012–2023. The working sample contains 24,043 firm-year observations after ‎standard cleaning (from 24,484 raw observations). Core variables include cooperative innovation ‎‎(log of jointly filed patents + 1), enterprise digitalization, three mechanism variables (knowledge ‎absorption, human capital optimization, organizational coordination), and standard firm-level ‎controls.‎ The package also includes a path-agnostic Stata pipeline:‎ • run_all.do • replication_master.do • advanced_analysis_addon.do • build_derived_policy_panel.do Policy-shock analyses use a city-level Broadband China adoption map ‎‎(broadband_city_adoption.csv) built from official MIIT pilot announcements (2014, 2015, 2016 ‎batches). The map covers 410 cities (106 treated; 304 controls).‎ Important data-rights note: parts of the analytical data are derived from CSMAR. Reuse must ‎comply with CSMAR licensing terms.‎

Steps to reproduce

Download and unzip the repository. Open Stata 19 and set working directory to the project root.
