Description

The article is devoted to the report of a famous theater critic Vladimir Filippov (1889 – 1965) at the All-Russian Theatrical Society about Shakespeare’s plays interpretation in the roles of Alexander Yuzhin (Sumbatov, 1857 – 1927). Yuzhin was one of the most prominent artists of the Russian stage at the turn of the XIX and XX centuries. The authors analyze seventeen Yuzhin’s Shakespearean roles.
