Description

This dataset includes the anonymized raw and processed data used in the study “Mechanisms linking landscape character and sense of place in historic urban areas: Evidence from Xi’an using structural equation modeling”. It contains respondents’ basic information and variables related to landscape character, landscape perception, landscape value, sense of place, and behavioral intention. The data were used for descriptive statistics, reliability and validity testing, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling.

Steps to reproduce

The anonymized raw questionnaire data were first checked for missing values and invalid responses. Variables were then coded according to the variable details and coding scheme provided in the supplementary file. The processed dataset was used to conduct descriptive statistics, reliability and validity testing, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling. The analysis examined the relationships among landscape character, landscape perception, landscape value, sense of place, and behavioral intention.
