Description

This dataset contains the data extracted and prepared for a systematic review and meta-analysis examining the effectiveness of chatbot-based interventions on depressive symptoms. The dataset includes study-level characteristics, sample information, depression measurement instruments, interventions and control conditions, intervention duration, assessment time points, and effect size data. The analysis dataset includes Hedges' g effect sizes, standard errors, variances, and moderator variables used in the meta-analysis. The dataset corresponds to the studies included in the systematic review and meta-analysis and supports the analyses reported in the associated manuscript.

The dataset was developed as part of a systematic review and meta-analysis examining the effectiveness of chatbot-based interventions on depressive symptoms. Relevant studies were identified through searches of PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, and ScienceDirect. Studies were screened according to predefined eligibility criteria, and data were extracted from the included studies. The dataset contains detailed study-level extraction data and a separate analysis dataset. For the meta-analysis, Hedges’ g effect sizes, standard errors, and variances were calculated and used for statistical analysis. Moderator variables included control type, intervention duration, and publication year. The analyses were conducted using a random-effects model with the metafor package in R.
