Description

This dataset contains information regarding the annual publication rates in the top 11 journals focusing on climate change adaptation in South Africa from 1966 to 2022. The main objective of this data collection was to evaluate the extent to which climate change adaptation research aligns with the sectors outlined in the South African climate change adaptation strategy. Furthermore, it aimed to determine whether policymakers consider the diverse sectors covered by climate change adaptation research literature, and if researchers prioritize publishing in the sectors outlined as priorities in the South African climate change adaptation strategy. The dataset is structured as a data frame containing 33 rows of observations, where each row represents a specific journal. The data was collected by searching the Web of Science and Scopus databases using the specified keywords: "climat*+chang*+adapt*+South* +Africa* , constrained to 1966 - 2022."
