Caregiver factors associated with self-care and quality of life in patients with heart failure

Description

These data relate to a 270-day sample of heart failure patients and their family caregivers. Information was collected in southern Colombia during 2016. The study includes sociodemographic characteristics of the participants; for patients, quality of life and self-care were assessed; for caregivers, role adoption, social support, the caregiver's contribution to the patient's self-care, and caregiver burden were evaluated.

Steps to reproduce

This analytical cross-sectional study was conducted with 270 heart failure patients and their caregivers in Cali, Colombia in a health care institution of this city. Data were collected using instruments measuring patient quality of life and self-care, caregiver contribution to self-care, social support, caregiver burden, and role adoption.
