Gregorio LuzDescription
This repository contains the processed data, R code, and replication materials for the article “Fare-Free Public Transport and Fare Cuts: Quasi-Experimental Evidence on Bus Ridership and Demand Elasticity in Brazil.” The files reproduce the analysis of two fare-policy changes in Belo Horizonte: the introduction of fare-free public transport on Sundays and holidays, and a within-system fare cut used to estimate bus demand elasticity. The repository includes cleaned monthly and line-level datasets, scripts for data preparation and analysis, and code to reproduce the tables and figures reported in the article. The original operational reports were published by the Belo Horizonte Mobility Authority (SUMOB).
