Description

This dataset contains the code, synthetic numerical data, exact-rational verification outputs, and reproducible figures supporting the article “Minimum-rank inverse corrections for positive definite matrix intervals.” It includes implementations of the minimum-rank criterion and interval-whitening construction, experiments with noncommuting positive definite endpoints, rank-error frontier calculations, direction-optimization experiments, and exact rational inertia checks. All data are synthetically generated. No confidential, personal, or third-party data are included.

Steps to reproduce

Download and extract AML_research_data_and_code.zip. Install the required Python packages by running: python -m pip install -r requirements.txt Then run the following commands from the extracted archive root, with Python assertions enabled: python code/rank_frontier_checks.py python code/robust_rank_experiments.py python code/robust_rank_adversarial.py python code/rank_direction_experiment.py python code/make_rank_figures.py The first four programs regenerate the saved JSON results. The final program regenerates the vector and raster figures. The computations were verified with Python 3.12.7, NumPy 1.26.4, SciPy 1.13.1, Matplotlib 3.10.7, and mpmath 1.3.0.
