Effect of inhaled peppermint essential oil aromatherapy on postoperative nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing laparoscopic gynecologic surgery

Description

Aromatherapy reduced the incidence of nausea and vomiting within 24 hours after surgery. The incidence of PONV decreased over time. The intervention in the PEO group showed statistical significance within 0-1 hours. The SAI anxiety score decreased within 0-24 hours and 24-48 hours after surgery, and the PCS catastrophizing score and the incidence of abdominal distension decreased within 0-24 hours after surgery.
