Description
Growth hormone (GH) and chromogranin A (CgA) mRNA expression evaluated in 8 primary cultures of GH- or GH/PRL-secreting pituitary adenomas, compared to 8 samples from clinically non-functioning pituitary adenomas (NFPAs).

Steps to reproduce
To check the purity of our primary cultures and to further validate our method, GH and chromogranin A (CgA) mRNA expression was investigated in freshly isolated cells from 8 out of 23 tumors included in the study (in which enough material was available). The data were compared with the results obtained in freshly isolated cells of 8 clinically non-functioning pituitary adenomas (NFPAs), randomly selected from our biobank, based on cDNA availability.
