Survey Data on Stakeholder Perceptions of the Impact of Mergers on Selected Indian Banks Using the Sustainability Balanced Scorecard Framework
Description
The dataset is designed to capture perception-based responses on the impact of mergers on selected Indian banks using the Sustainability Balanced Scorecard framework. It includes screening questions to ensure that respondents have awareness or experience of Indian bank mergers, followed by demographic information such as gender, age, education, occupation, banking experience, type of banking relationship, and familiarity with specific merged banks. The main measurement section collects responses through a 7-point Likert scale ranging from “Strongly Disagree” to “Strongly Agree.” It measures eight major constructs: Financial Performance Perspective, Customer Perspective, Internal Business Process Perspective, Learning and Growth Perspective, Social Sustainability Perspective, Environmental Sustainability Perspective, Governance and Transparency Perspective, and Overall Post-Merger Performance. Each construct contains six items, making the dataset suitable for quantitative analysis such as reliability testing, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and PLS-SEM. Overall, the dataset helps examine how different stakeholder groups perceive the financial, operational, customer-related, governance, and sustainability outcomes of bank mergers in India.

Steps to reproduce
To reproduce this dataset, first identify respondents who are aware of Indian bank mergers and have used, worked with, invested in, or studied any merged Indian bank. Then administer the structured questionnaire containing screening questions, demographic questions, and 48 perception-based items across eight Sustainability Balanced Scorecard constructs. Responses should be collected on a 7-point Likert scale from 1 = Strongly Disagree to 7 = Strongly Agree. After data collection, screen incomplete or ineligible responses, code the demographic variables and construct items, and then analyse the cleaned dataset using descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, validity assessment, and PLS-SEM to examine the impact of financial, customer, internal process, learning, social, environmental, and governance perspectives on overall post-merger performance
