Description

Matricaria recutita L., popularly known as chamomile, is a medicinal plant associated with anxiolytic, antimicrobial, and antioxidant actions. The present study aimed to determine the phytochemical profile of nine ethanolic extracts of commercial erasures of M. recutita in order to verify the guarantee of the plants. Preliminary phytochemical prospecting and the Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC), Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of the extracts, antioxidant potential by scavenging the 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical. In silico prediction of absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and toxicity (ADMET) was performed for compounds identified and quantified by UPLC. The bioactive compounds in the highest concentration in the extracts were apigenin and quercetrin, which are correlated in the literature as antimicrobials, corroborating the activity flow of microorganisms observed for the ethanol extracts of the plant, which obtained MIC of 6.25x10³ µg/mL. All extracts showed antioxidant potential, especially extract H, which showed IC50 = 34.78, lower than the two standards used, rutin and BHT. Through the ADMET analysis, it was observed that the bioactive compounds quercetin and vitexin were the only ones that did not present a mutagenic profile, having the best percentages of absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion. Based on this, it can be inferred that all samples showed significant percentages of the analyzed biocompounds, in addition to showing in vitro and in silico tests effective effects in the treatment of possible pathogenic diseases, thus being indicated for future in vivo therapeutic evaluation tests, such as as well as the evaluation of the extract in complementary therapies.
