Description

We present a leaf image dataset obtained from twelve common plant and tree species abundantly found in tropical and sub-tropical regions, namely, Acacia, Banyan, Black_Plum, Burflower, Chilli, Guava, Jack_fruit, Lychee, Mahogany, Mango, Tejapatta, lemon. This dataset is primarily intended for providing high quality, labelled images for application in plant identification, species classification, and the development of machine learning models. Also this dataset could be useful for the research in computer vision, plant taxonomy, environmental monitoring, conservation of biodiversity, and educational purposes. The diversity and quality of the images makes it especially useful for developing and testing machine learning algorithms for automatic recognition of leaves and species classification as well as for applications in mobile identification tools, digital herbariums and agricultural technology solutions.
