The data was collected with communities around Lakes Chilwa and Chiuta in the Southern part of Malawi. The data collection involved taking length and weight measurement of the sampled fish species around selected potential fish spawning sites. These sites were identified by the communities and search team from the Malawi Government.

Steps to reproduce
The data was collected using locally available sampling tools to avoid potential cases of EUS transmissions. Length frequency data was being collected following a proven fish identification protocol supported by field guide. The data was entered and summarised in MIcrosoft Excel 2021.
